María Marín Martínez

Devesa reinforces its Tax Law area with the incorporation of María Marín Martínez, a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in legal and tax advice in firms such as Deloitte and in the academic field.

María has a high degree of specialisation in advising family businesses and national and international business groups, participating in corporate and asset restructuring, tax and corporate planning for international business groups, advising on tax and corporate matters, tax audits and investigations and the preparation of tax reports.

José Mª García Guirao, head partner of the tax department, explains that this incorporation is a key step in the context of the strong growth that the area has been experiencing in recent years: ‘María is an excellent professional who will play a key role for us, as she allows us to combine the growth of the firm with the provision of a top quality service. We have known each other for many years and I know that we could not have found a better profile.’

David Devesa, CEO and founder of the firm, said: ‘Recently, Expansión ranked Devesa in 5th position by percentage of growth in Spain. The incorporation of María reinforces the team in line with this growth, which in our case has been 100% organic to date. We continue to make a strong commitment to having the best professionals.’

Devesa, which was the first law firm in Spain to obtain the ‘Great Place to Work Legal’ certification, has offices in Madrid, Alicante and Valencia.

The firm has posted eight consecutive years of growth of more than 30%, standing out for its advice on company acquisitions, corporate restructurings, commercial, labour and tax litigation and bankruptcy proceedings, as well as exits to capital markets and legal support in alternative financing operations with investment funds.
